David's Story
Life
Graduated from Kent State with a BS in Biology, and became involved in the environmental remediation industry. Passed my board exams as a Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) and opened an environmental, health and safety consulting firm in 1993. I divorced in 2001, and have remarried. Jennifer and I have an 8 month old girl, Hannah Jean, and a step daughter Alexandria. We now live in Bakersfield, CA and I try to stay closer to home. I am blessed with an active, healthy, wonderful children and my wife. I hope the world calms down a bit, there is so much more to do. I like to fish and take driving trips in the western states; there is so much unbelievable beauty out here. The family likes to ski, but with the new baby, we skipped last year, so we are looking forward to this season. We ski Mammoth (and fish), June Mountain, Heavenly, and Kirkwood. Hope to hear from some old friends from time to time. I speak frequently to Cuyler Costanzo, and Eric Rininger.
October 2006 - Man, does time fly! Hannah is going to be three soon. Started new job at Cal State Bakersfield, a medium sized campus of about 7500 students, and 950 staff. I am responsible for environmental, health, safety, and risk management. Jen is back in school for a cosmetology license. Alex in Junior High and continues in band and academically excels. I am restoring a 57 Powerwagon for a hobby. Still camp, fish, ski. Lost Dad last summer, and Mom is doing well in Copley. Talk to Bruce, Jeff and Sue pretty often. Mike in Mantua near Ravenna, but he is difficult to get a hold of. We are all healthy, and enjoying the west coast.

season finds you all in good health and circumstance! Alexandria turned 13 last month and Hannah will be 4 next month, so we have been busy with celebrations and getting the house ready for X-mas. Hannah is really excited about the gift giving, and tells me about Baby Jesus and other interesting Christmas facts from a 4 year old point of view. Priceless!
Jennifer has returned to a former employer in the property management business, and really is happy with the decision. I still enjoy working at the University, and have developed a level of comfort dealing with the academics and politics of the institution. I have been involved in business continuity planning to prepare the campus in the event of a natural disaster, or other large scale event. Just seems to be an increase in the randomness and level of violence in our day to day lives. I still dabble in environmental consulting with the oil producers in our county. There is local interest in producing from an oil deposit that contains mercury, and we are helping design and implement the mercury monitoring for worker and environment safety.
I heard from Karrie Scott, and it appears that others are interested in the 30th class reunion. I am already planning to make it happen on my part, hope the rest of you feel the same. It would be nice to visit and share with old classmates and friends! Cleveland was featured in the national news concerning the weather front that is about to hit later today, and I remembered the Blizzard of 77, when school shut down for several days, and we went out in Medina and drove through the drifting snow on the country roads. Well, I have to admit, I think IÂd still do it if I had the chance! Merry Christmas & Best Wishes in the New Year!
